ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kataty Waite graduated from Edinburgh School of Art in 1973, with a BFA in ceramics and stained glass. She won an Andrew Grant Award for a further year of study and travel during which time she researched and photographed many stained glass windows in Europe. She went on to win a National Award for her experimental stained glass work. She subsequently worked in a commercial stained glass studio in Germany where she worked on major projects.
Over the years she has worked both in the UK and New Zealand as an art teacher, potter and stained glass artist continuing to pursue exploration of mixed media art. She has completed major architectural glass commissions in both countries.
